Senior Software Engineer – 6-Month Contract

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join a leading governing body on a 6‑month contract. The role is hybrid, with one day per week on‑site in London, Cardiff or Glasgow, and involves developing and maintaining critical digital services.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and support core business applications using C# and .NET technologies.
• Contribute to technical design, code reviews and delivery of software solutions.
• Produce clear technical documentation and collaborate with product, delivery and DevOps teams.
• Drive adoption of modern development practices such as CI/CD, automation and testing.
• Identify and implement improvements to development processes.

Required profile

• Strong experience as a Microsoft software developer.
• Proven expertise in C#.NET (including .NET 6) and SQL Server.
• Hands‑on experience with Test‑Driven Development and CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to work in agile multidisciplinary teams.
• SC clearance desirable but not essential.

What we offer
