Senior Software Engineer - Application Engineering

About the role

UMeduMed is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join its Application Engineering team. You will own end‑to‑end feature delivery, from design through production, while collaborating closely with the Data Engineering team that powers the health data platform.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and improve platform features using Python and Django.
• Write well‑structured, testable, production‑ready code and maintain high quality standards.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering to integrate platform capabilities.
• Participate in scrum ceremonies, backlog refinement, and technical discussions with Product and Design.
• Provide production support, incident management, debugging, and performance tuning.
• Document implementations clearly and consistently.
• Help define and evolve backend engineering standards, staying current with the Python/Django ecosystem.

Required profile

• Strong Python and Django experience (or comparable Python web framework).
• Solid grasp of REST API design and relational database modelling.
• Hands‑on experience with AWS, containers, and serverless technologies.
• Familiarity with message queuing, stream processing, and observability tools (e.g., Sentry, Datadog).
• Proven track record of delivering backend features end‑to‑end.
• Degree in computing or equivalent practical experience.
