Senior Software Engineer

About the role

We are partnering with a London‑based investment bank to find a Senior Software Engineer who will design and build a business‑critical data ingestion and search interface. The solution will simplify the onboarding of future applications and support the bank’s data‑driven initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop a user‑friendly UI using React for data search and onboarding.
• Write and maintain Python and PowerShell scripts to automate data workflows.
• Design, implement and optimise data pipelines, architectures and datasets.
• Create processes for data transformation, metadata handling and big‑data processing.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure data quality and performance.

Required profile

• Proficiency in UI development with React.
• Extensive experience scripting in Python and PowerShell.
• Strong background building data pipelines and large‑scale data architectures.
• Experience with data transformation, metadata management and big‑data technologies.
• Good knowledge of at least one object‑oriented programming language.

What we offer

• Up to £750 per day (Umbrella rate).
• Initial 12‑month contract with the possibility of extensions.
