Senior Software Engineer – .NET & Azure Banking Platform

About the role

The role sits in the Banking and FX tribe, delivering end‑to‑end payment, FX, ledger and compliance services. You will design, build and run .NET 10 services on Azure, handling asynchronous flows that must stay correct under timeouts and duplicate messages. The position is hybrid, working 2‑3 days a week from our London office.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and operate .NET 10 services on Azure, owning them from code commit to production support.
• Build robust asynchronous, event‑driven flows that handle partial failures, retries and duplicate delivery.
• Integrate with banking partners and payment schemes, including undocumented integration points.
• Make architectural decisions for your domain, document them and defend them within the tribe.
• Embed security, availability, reliability and observability from the start, using Grafana and Application Insights.

Required profile

• Extensive experience with .NET and running production services on cloud platforms (Azure preferred).
• Strong background in asynchronous, event‑driven systems and handling idempotency, ordering, retries and poison messages.
• Hands‑on experience with SQL Server, schema design and code‑first ORMs (EF Core a plus).
• Proven ability to work in regulated environments where changes to money movement require solid evidence.
