Senior Solicitor – Professional Indemnity (Bristol)

About the role

Join the client’s National Professional Indemnity team, a group of experts operating across the UK. The role focuses on professional liability matters, primarily for lawyers, within a market‑leading insurance and risk practice.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a diverse caseload of claims against solicitors, accountants, financial advisers, construction consultants and brokers.
• Handle complex multi‑party disputes, both litigated and pre‑action, alongside policy coverage and advisory work for major insurers and corporate clients.
• Run files independently while contributing to strategically important matters under partner guidance.
• Engage in regulatory and disciplinary matters and provide coverage advice, identifying key trigger points for insurance protection.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years post‑qualification experience handling coverage disputes and advisory matters in financial, professional and management lines.
• Strong knowledge of the FCA‑regulated environment and Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) procedures.
• Excellent technical legal skills, including drafting, strategy management and the ability to prioritise a full, varied caseload.
• Established connections within the insurance market and a developing network of contacts.
