Senior Support Engineer (Hybrid) – Cheltenham

About the role

Our client, a leading managed IT and cybersecurity provider based in Cheltenham, is seeking a Senior Support Engineer to join their technical team. The role is hybrid, with three days on‑site and two days remote, and offers the chance to work across a diverse portfolio of UK businesses.

Key responsibilities

• Provide 2nd and 3rd line support for a varied customer base, handling complex infrastructure, networking and Microsoft 365 issues.
• Troubleshoot and resolve incidents in cloud environments, including Azure migrations and Microsoft 365 services.
• Manage and resolve escalated service‑desk tickets, ensuring timely closure.
• Support cybersecurity technologies, applying security best practices and vulnerability management.
• Assist with project delivery, infrastructure upgrades, backup, disaster recovery and business continuity solutions.
• Maintain endpoint, server and network environments and collaborate with internal technical teams to deliver exceptional customer outcomes.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Senior Support Engineer, 3rd Line Engineer or similar infrastructure support role.
• Strong Microsoft 365 administration background.
• Experience supporting Azure cloud environments.
• Solid knowledge of Windows Server and Active Directory.
• Good understanding of networking fundamentals.
• Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions.
• Excellent troubleshooting and customer‑facing abilities.
