Senior Support Worker – Mental Health (Full‑Time)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Support Worker to join Together for Mental Wellbeing at Jankyns Place. In this full‑time role you will provide recovery‑focused support to adults with complex mental health needs, helping them build confidence, develop life skills and move towards independent community living.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver person‑centred support to adults (18+) with complex mental health needs.
• Empower service users to achieve independence and engage with community activities.
• Build trusting, respectful relationships and support attendance at appointments.
• Line‑manage one or more support workers and assist the service manager in delivery.
• Conduct assessments, risk assessments and determine urgency of needs.
• Coordinate with external agencies, attend multidisciplinary meetings and make referrals.
• Assist service users with benefits, education, tenancy and personal relationships.
• Maintain accurate, concise records using Together’s computer‑based systems and manage client data.
• Produce written reports and contribute to contract compliance and commissioning reporting.
• Participate in mandatory training and ongoing professional development.

Required profile

• Experience supporting adults with complex mental health needs.
• Ability to lead and supervise a small team of support workers.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with multi‑disciplinary teams.
• Knowledge of risk assessment, tenancy support and benefits/education systems.
• Commitment to the values of hope, empowerment and recovery.
