Senior Syndicate Accountant

About the role

We are partnering with a Lloyd's insurer to recruit a Senior Syndicate Accountant for its London‑based finance team. The successful candidate will support regulatory reporting, financial accounting and operational finance activities across multiple entities, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of financial information.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain strong financial controls and perform balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Collaborate with underwriting, claims, reinsurance, IT and credit control teams.
• Support finance transformation initiatives, including system and process enhancements.
• Assist with audit processes and liaise with internal and external auditors.
• Partner with FP&A, Tax, Actuarial and Treasury on reporting and analysis.
• Contribute to ad‑hoc projects and strategic finance initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in syndicate accounting or a comparable insurance finance role.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory reporting and UK accounting standards.
• Ability to work effectively with cross‑functional stakeholders.
• High attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
