Senior Systems Accountant

About the role

The Government Property Agency is seeking a Senior Systems Accountant to lead the administration and optimisation of its finance systems. You will work within a dynamic team delivering modern, sustainable property services for the civil service.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Microsoft Business Central, Proactis, Horizon and Power BI.
• Act as the finance‑system expert, handling day‑to‑day queries, troubleshooting issues and liaising with users.
• Provide technical guidance and task direction to junior team members.
• Quality‑assure system inputs and outputs, monitor integrations and resolve any problems.
• Build, test and maintain finance system reports.
• Lead system improvements, automate manual processes and support system testing.

Required profile

• Fully qualified accountant (or part‑qualified with relevant experience).
• Proven experience managing finance systems in a large organisation.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication skills for user support and team leadership.
