Senior Systems Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to join our defence and aerospace team in Portsmouth. You will apply Systems Engineering principles across the full product lifecycle, from requirements definition to system disposal, ensuring solutions meet stakeholder and regulatory needs.

Key responsibilities

• Implement ISO 15288 processes from concept through integration, acceptance, support and disposal.
• Decompose and manage system and sub‑system requirements using tools such as IBM DOORS Next.
• Develop system architecture, define interfaces and maintain models in CATIA Magic (Cameo).
• Plan and execute integration and verification activities, supporting acceptance strategies and compliance checks.
• Produce technical reports, presentations and lead reviews to ensure adherence to specifications and standards.
• Provide technical guidance to the team, resolve engineering issues and champion continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Proven experience in systems engineering within complex, safety‑critical projects.
• Ability to work independently with limited direction and lead multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong understanding of risk management, model‑based engineering and digital‑thread concepts.
