Senior Technical Claims Handler – Large Loss Team

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Claims Handler to join our Large Loss team. In this key technical position you will manage a portfolio of complex motor claims, primarily high‑value bodily injury cases, and act as a technical referral point for colleagues.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of complex motor claims, including high‑value bodily injury matters up to £250,000.
• Develop and implement claim strategies, conduct liability investigations and lead negotiations.
• Maintain accurate reserves, ensure strong file discipline and conduct regular claim reviews.
• Attend trials and conferences with counsel when required.
• Provide technical guidance to team members on complex claim queries.
• Ensure compliance with FCA regulations and Consumer Duty principles.

Required profile

• Proven experience handling serious injury motor claims.
• Strong knowledge of liability assessment, negotiation and claims reserving.
• Understanding of personal injury heads of claim, care and discount rate considerations.
• Familiarity with relevant case law and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to support colleagues on technical matters.
