Senior Technical Specialist – Global Laboratories

About the role

Alfred H Knight is seeking a Senior Technical Specialist to provide hands‑on technical support across its global network of metals and minerals laboratories. The role involves travelling to regional labs and client sites to resolve analytical issues, implement new methods and drive technical capability.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day technical leadership for laboratory operations worldwide, advising senior leadership and supporting continuous improvement programmes.
• Verify testing systems and protocols maintain high‑quality analytical standards, ensure methods meet accuracy requirements and confirm staff proficiency.
• Develop project targets, KPIs and data‑driven recommendations through technical reporting.
• Maintain compliance with ISO 17025, ISO 9001 and other validation requirements.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years experience in a commercial analytical laboratory, preferably in the metals and minerals sector.
• Proven ability to work across culturally diverse teams, influence without authority and communicate complex technical issues to non‑technical stakeholders.
• Hands‑on experience with analytical instrumentation such as WDXRF, EDXRF, FAAS, ICP, ICP‑MS and fire assay.
• Experience supervising laboratory teams and using Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
