Senior Technician

About the role

Avia Technique is seeking a Senior Technician to join its Line Replacement Unit (LRU) workshop in Wokingham. The role involves hands‑on inspection, maintenance, repair and overhaul of aircraft fuel system components, ensuring compliance with the highest safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance, repair and overhaul activities on aircraft fuel system components.
• Follow approved maintenance manuals, component maintenance manuals (CMMs) and company procedures.
• Perform detailed inspections, identify defects, wear and non‑conformances.
• Assemble and disassemble components using approved tooling and equipment.
• Complete maintenance documentation and records accurately.
• Maintain compliance with aviation regulations, quality standards and workshop procedures.
• Keep the workshop clean, organised and safe.
• Support continuous improvement and LEAN initiatives.
• Adhere to health & safety requirements and contribute to team objectives.

Required profile

• Mechanical engineering experience in manufacturing, aerospace, automotive or a similar technical environment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with practical hands‑on skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to read and follow technical instructions and maintenance data.
• Good literacy and numeracy skills.
• Positive attitude, willingness to learn and strong team‑working communication.
• Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy.

Required skills

• Mechanical engineering knowledge.
• Use of precision measurement equipment.
• Operation of workshop tools and approved tooling.
• Understanding of aviation regulations and quality systems.
• Electronics experience (desirable).
