Senior Town Planner – Infrastructure & Energy Projects

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Town Planner to join a leading multidisciplinary planning and property consultancy in London. The role focuses on delivering planning and consenting strategies for nationally significant infrastructure projects, including energy, transport and regeneration schemes.

Key responsibilities

• Manage complex planning projects from inception through to determination.
• Advise clients on Development Consent Orders (DCOs) and broader infrastructure consenting strategies.
• Prepare and review planning reports, statements and supporting documentation.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary consultant teams throughout the planning process.
• Support stakeholder engagement, consultation activities and liaise with local authorities.
• Assist with examinations, hearings and negotiations with statutory consultees.
• Build and maintain client relationships while identifying business development opportunities.

Required profile

• MRTPI‑qualified planner.
• Proven experience with DCOs and/or Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIPs).
• Strong knowledge of UK planning legislation and consenting regimes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
• Commercial, client‑focused approach.
