Senior Town Planner

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Town Planner to join our client‑facing team in the Wessex region. This fee‑earning position works across residential, agricultural and commercial projects from concept through to the discharge of planning conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide initial feasibility advice and develop planning strategies for clients.
• Prepare and submit planning, design & access statements and other supporting documentation.
• Manage full‑cycle applications for residential, commercial, agricultural and listed building consent.
• Lead projects, liaise with external consultants and coordinate with internal design, rural, commercial and valuation teams.
• Advise on planning obligations such as Section 106 agreements and Community Infrastructure Levy.
• Handle planning appeals and promote development sites for adoption.

Required profile

• Chartered Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (MRTPI).
• Minimum 3 years post‑qualification experience (PQE) in a client‑facing role.
• Strong knowledge of NPPF, local and neighbourhood plans relevant to the Wessex area.
• Proven ability to work both independently and within interdisciplinary teams.
