Senior Transformation Manager

About the role

National Grid Electricity Distribution is seeking a Senior Transformation Manager to join its newly created Transformation Office. This 12‑month fixed‑term position will work across multiple strategic initiatives, helping senior leaders align priorities, manage inter‑dependencies and deliver sustainable business outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with executives, business sponsors and senior leaders to shape, coordinate and accelerate strategic transformation across programmes and functions.
• Translate strategic ambitions into structured roadmaps, ensuring initiatives collectively meet target outcomes.
• Identify, manage and resolve critical inter‑dependencies, risks and opportunities across the transformation portfolio.
• Provide constructive challenge and intervention to remove obstacles and accelerate delivery.
• Facilitate governance, decision‑making and performance reporting, highlighting risks, dependencies and value delivery.
• Define, monitor and report on outcomes, benefits measures and KPIs.
• Bring external best‑practice insights to continuously improve the organisation’s change approach.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a central strategy, transformation, enterprise change or programme office environment.
• Demonstrated ability to work at enterprise level, influencing senior stakeholders and navigating complex change.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a focus on delivering measurable benefits.
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills, able to build consensus across diverse teams.
