Senior Trust Administrator

About the role

This senior position is based in a boutique family office that manages portfolios for family and charitable trusts. You will own a portfolio of trusts, ensuring accurate administration, compliance and high‑quality client service.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of family and charitable trusts, overseeing payments, distributions, cash‑flow and beneficiary arrangements.
• Prepare and review trust accounts and tax returns (income tax, CGT, IHT), including complex calculations such as 10‑year and exit charges.
• Act as the primary point of contact for trustees, beneficiaries and professional advisers, handling correspondence and building relationships.
• Monitor bank accounts and investment activity, ensuring accurate reconciliations and effective cash management.
• Support complex trust events and projects, such as restructurings, beneficiary changes and interpretation of evolving tax legislation.

Required profile

• Strong technical knowledge of trust accounting and taxation (income tax, CGT, IHT) with the ability to apply evolving legislation.
• Proven experience managing a portfolio of trusts and estates independently, including complex structures.
• Excellent attention to detail and a proactive, organised approach to multiple deadlines.
• Strong communication skills for building relationships with trustees, beneficiaries and external advisers.
• Solid systems experience, ideally with the CCH suite, and a commercial mindset.
