Senior Underwriter – PI & Financial Lines Reinsurance

About the role

We are partnering with a leading City of London reinsurer to hire a Senior Underwriter for their Casualty Facultative division. The successful candidate will underwrite Financial Lines on a facultative basis, drive pricing, and develop new cedant market opportunities across the UK and Ireland.

Key responsibilities

• Build and expand a profitable portfolio of Financial Lines facultative business for UK and Ireland cedents.
• Promote and market the Casualty Facultative product directly to prospective and existing cedent clients.
• Underwrite, price, structure, and negotiate individual facultative risks, bundled reinsurance schemes, programmes, and delegated authority arrangements.
• Serve as a central technical underwriting resource for Financial Lines within the London branch and the wider International Casualty Facultative network.

Required profile

• Strong technical understanding of Financial Lines products (PI, MedMal, FI, D&O) from a commercial perspective.
• Proven track record of growing a substantial portfolio of facultative business.
• Experience working with cedants in the UK and Ireland.
• Ability to act as a technical hub for the London and international teams.
