Senior Warehouse & Decontamination Officer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Warehouse and Decontamination Officer to lead a small team responsible for managing the Leeds Community Equipment Service warehouse and decontamination area. The role ensures safe, efficient handling of equipment from receipt through to delivery, while maintaining compliance with LCES standards.

Key responsibilities

• Line‑manage warehouse assistants and cleaning operatives, supporting development and maintaining staff records.
• Oversee receipt, stacking, storage, and dispatch of community equipment.
• Develop, implement and maintain SOPs for warehouse and decontamination processes.
• Monitor inventory levels, conduct physical counts and reconcile discrepancies.
• Liaise with transporters and stakeholders to ensure timely deliveries.
• Enforce health and safety protocols, including COSHH compliance, and conduct regular safety inspections.
• Prepare regular reports on operations, inventory status and issues.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a logistics or warehouse environment with stock financial management.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise, motivate and develop staff.
• Strong organisational and time‑management abilities.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach.

Required skills

• Proficiency with logistic management systems.
• Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations, including COSHH.
