Senior/Principal Town Planner – Bristol

About the role

Penguin Recruitment is partnering with a leading multidisciplinary consultancy to hire a Senior/Principal Town Planner for its growing Bristol team. You will join an established planning department delivering high‑profile infrastructure, energy, transport and regeneration projects across the UK.

Key responsibilities

• Lead or support planning projects across a wide range of sectors, acting as Planning Lead or Lead Consultant.
• Manage projects from inception through to successful delivery, preparing strategies, reports and technical documentation.
• Support bids, tender submissions and framework opportunities.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders and multidisciplinary specialists.
• Mentor junior planners and contribute to business development.

Required profile

• A relevant planning degree or equivalent qualification.
• MRTPI status or progression towards chartership.
• Experience in a planning consultancy or similar environment.
• Strong knowledge of the UK planning system, including TCPA, DCO and TWAO applications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
