SEN/SEND Tutor – Flexible Teaching Role in Tyne & Wear

About the role
Join Targeted Provision as a SEN/SEND Tutor and help transform the lives of young people with special educational needs and mental health challenges. You will deliver flexible, trauma‑informed tuition in Maths, English or Science, working either in‑person, online or in a hybrid model within a 45‑minute radius of Newcastle.
Key responsibilities
- Provide one‑to‑one or small‑group tuition for pupils from KS1 to KS5 with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD or PMLD.
- Plan and deliver lessons that are tailored, flexible and trauma‑informed.
- Collaborate with schools, local authorities and the SEND Support Team to ensure a safe learning environment.
- Maintain accurate records and adhere to safeguarding and DBS requirements.
Required profile
- Minimum 2 years teaching experience, preferably with SEND, SEMH or related needs.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS).
- Enhanced DBS clearance (can be facilitated) and two professional references.
- Legal right to work in the UK and knowledge of safeguarding procedures.
