SEN/SEND Tutor – Flexible Teaching Role

About the role

Join a child‑centred organisation delivering in‑person, online and hybrid tuition for core subjects to young people with SEND and SEMH needs. Work flexibly across a 45‑minute radius of Chester, tailoring your schedule to part‑time or full‑time hours.

Key responsibilities

• Provide Maths, English or Science tutoring to learners from KS1 to KS5 with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD or PMLD.
• Plan and deliver trauma‑informed lessons in person, remotely or in a hybrid format.
• Maintain safeguarding standards and create a safe learning environment.
• Collaborate with schools, local authorities and the SEND Support Team.
• Record progress and communicate outcomes to relevant stakeholders.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years teaching experience, preferably with SEND/SEMH pupils.
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS).
• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain) and two professional references.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Knowledge of safeguarding procedures.

Required skills

• Teaching proficiency in Maths, English and/or Science.
• Experience delivering trauma‑informed education.
• Ability to adapt lessons for a range of additional educational needs.
