SEO Lead

About the role

Reed.co.uk is seeking an experienced SEO Lead to own day‑to‑day SEO performance and drive sustainable organic growth for its flagship job site. You will act as the SEO champion across product, content and engineering teams, turning insights into clear recommendations and priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Champion SEO across the business, ensuring organic search is considered in product, content and technology decisions.
• Monitor and analyse organic performance, identify risks and opportunities, and translate findings into actionable road‑maps.
• Own the daily SEO operation, set briefs, challenge recommendations and hold teams accountable for results.
• Partner with product, engineering and delivery teams to embed SEO best practices and resolve technical issues such as crawling, indexing, site architecture and structured data.
• Collaborate with content and marketing teams on keyword research, content optimisation and competitor analysis.
• Stay abreast of search engine developments, AI‑powered search and LLM trends, testing new approaches as needed.

Required profile

• 4‑5+ years of SEO experience with a strong technical and on‑page background.
• Proven track record of improving organic performance on medium to large sites or platforms.
• Degree level 2:1 or equivalent and eligibility to work in the UK.
• Experience managing SEO agencies or specialist partners.

• Technical SEO (crawling, indexing, site architecture, internal linking, structured data, JavaScript rendering).
• Google Search Console.
• Google Analytics.
• Enterprise SEO and crawling tools.
