Service Advisor – Automotive Customer Service

About the role

Arnold Clark is seeking a Service Advisor for its MG branch in East Kilbride. You will be the first point of contact for customers bringing their vehicles in for service or repair, ensuring a smooth, friendly and professional experience from arrival to departure.

Key responsibilities

• Handle all customer enquiries and requirements for vehicle service and repairs efficiently.
• Liaise with workshop and bodyshop teams to progress jobs through the system.
• Manage computer‑based job orders, purchasing and invoicing while protecting customer and company financial interests.
• Communicate faults, recommended repairs and solutions clearly to customers.
• Address dissatisfied customers with empathy, offering resolutions and reassurance.
• Maintain accurate customer records, vehicle details and service histories.
• Stay informed about after‑sales products and services, upselling where appropriate.
• Keep the customer database up‑to‑date at all times.

Required profile

• Ability to resolve issues quickly and efficiently.
• Strong organisational skills and the capacity to multitask in a busy environment.
• Clear, concise communication and influencing abilities.
• Willingness to follow defined processes and guidelines.

Required skills

• Demonstrable computer literacy and familiarity with IT systems and applications.
