Service Advisor

About the role

Arnold Clark is seeking a Service Advisor to join its motorstore in Birtley. You will be the first point of contact for customers bringing their vehicles in for service or repair, ensuring a smooth and pleasant experience from arrival to departure.

Key responsibilities

• Handle all customer enquiries and requirements for vehicle service and repairs efficiently.
• Liaise with workshop and bodyshop teams to progress jobs through the system.
• Manage computer‑based job, purchasing and invoicing processes, protecting both customer and company financial interests.
• Communicate faults and recommended repairs clearly to customers.
• Address dissatisfied customers with empathy and resolve issues promptly.
• Maintain accurate customer records, vehicle details and service histories.
• Promote after‑sales products and services where appropriate.

Required profile

• Strong passion for delivering excellent customer service.
• Ability to work calmly under pressure and multitask in a busy environment.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills.
• Organised with the capacity to schedule work effectively.

Required skills

• Computer literacy and familiarity with IT systems and applications.
