Service Centre Supervisor

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Service Centre Supervisor to lead a busy operational team in Rainham. The role involves overseeing day‑to‑day activities, ensuring client commitments are met and driving performance in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and develop Service Centre Team Leaders, Operatives, Drivers and Machinists.
• Ensure customer service agreements and turnaround times are consistently achieved.
• Manage daily workloads, allocate resources and maximise productivity.
• Monitor team performance, attendance, holiday planning and absence management.
• Promote a culture of safety, quality and continuous improvement.
• Investigate operational issues and implement long‑term solutions through root‑cause analysis.
• Maintain training, compliance and standard operating procedures for all team members.
• Support recruitment, onboarding and development of new staff.
• Manage vehicle compliance and ensure a road‑worthy fleet.
• Complete administrative tasks such as payroll information, timesheets and employee queries.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a supervisory or team‑leadership role.
• Strong people‑management and coaching abilities.
• Excellent planning, organisational and communication skills.
• Good understanding of Health & Safety practices.
• Problem‑solving mindset with experience driving improvements.
• Basic IT proficiency.
• Desirable: experience in service, manufacturing, logistics, operations or production environments; knowledge of Continuous Improvement or Lean/6S principles; IOSH Managing Safely qualification; ILM Level 5 or equivalent leadership qualification.
