Service Charge Accountant

About the role

AD Finance is partnering with a fast‑growing property management business in central Birmingham to hire a Service Charge Accountant. You will join a dynamic finance team, taking ownership of service charge accounting across a diverse property portfolio and supporting long‑term career development.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing, reviewing and managing annual service charge budgets.
• Prepare year‑end service charge accounts and perform expenditure reconciliations.
• Complete bank, supplier and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Monitor service charge arrears and support debt recovery processes.
• Produce monthly and quarterly financial reports with variance analysis.
• Act as the primary contact for leaseholders, clients and auditors on financial queries.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a Service Charge Accountant role.
• Strong understanding of service charge accounting principles and industry guidelines.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational abilities.
• Confident communication with a range of stakeholders.
