Service & Commissioning Engineer – Automation Machinery

About the role

We are seeking a Service & Commissioning Engineer to join a fast‑growing engineering business that designs and builds bespoke automation solutions for global customers. You will become an expert on highly specialised machinery, working on challenging projects both in our workshop and on customer sites across the UK and overseas.

Key responsibilities

• Commission, service, maintain and fault‑find bespoke automated and special‑purpose machinery.
• Perform electrical and mechanical troubleshooting on site and in the workshop.
• Travel to customer locations across the UK and internationally as required.
• Undertake specialist training on cutting‑edge equipment within a niche industry.

Required profile

• Proven experience with automated or special‑purpose machinery.
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault‑finding abilities.
• PLC fault‑finding experience is advantageous.
• Based within commuting distance of Cambridge and willing to travel.
