Service Configuration & CMDB Lead

About the role

As the Service Configuration & CMDB Lead at Marex, you will be responsible for the governance, accuracy and continuous improvement of the firm’s Configuration Management Database (CMDB), configuration data and associated discovery tooling. Reporting to the Global IT Service Manager, you will act as the subject‑matter expert for Configuration Management across Technology, setting standards, improving controls and ensuring the CMDB provides reliable information to support operational, service management, risk and audit activities.

Key responsibilities

• Own the Configuration Management framework, standards, processes and procedures, and administer the CMDB within the Atlassian ecosystem.
• Manage integrations with Atlassian Assets/Data Manager, discovery tools (Lansweeper, Atlassian Assets Discovery), source systems, APIs and scheduled data feeds.
• Monitor discovery and integration health, investigate failures and data‑quality issues, and coordinate remediation with system owners.
• Define and maintain data‑mapping, reconciliation and data‑quality standards across configuration data sources.
• Produce regular reporting on CMDB health, discovery coverage, risks, remediation and improvement opportunities.
• Drive continuous improvement through automation, scripting and API integrations to reduce manual data maintenance.

Required profile

• Strong experience in Configuration Management, CMDB management, IT Asset Management or IT Service Management.
• Hands‑on experience administering and governing a CMDB in a complex technology environment.
• Proven ability to work with technical and data owners to resolve discrepancies and improve data quality.
• ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent practical ITSM experience.
