Service Controller (Heavy Plant Machinery)

About the role
We are seeking a Service Controller to lead the maintenance and servicing of our heavy plant fleet in Darlington. You will be pivotal in ensuring equipment reliability for our plant hire division, supporting construction, utilities and infrastructure projects.
Key responsibilities
- Manage maintenance and servicing requirements for the plant fleet.
- Schedule breakdowns, repairs and regulatory inspections (LOLER, PUWER).
- Oversee workshop engineers and allocate workloads.
- Order parts, maintain stock levels and process workshop administration.
- Liaise with customers to resolve damage or service issues.
- Support hire desk administration and ensure compliance documentation is up‑to‑date.
Required profile
- Experience within plant hire, heavy plant or a similar industry.
- Previous service manager or supervisory experience.
- Full UK driving licence.
