Service Coordinator

About the role

Veolia is seeking a Service Coordinator to oversee daily service delivery for its waste and transport operations in Basingstoke. You will act as the central point of contact between customers, drivers and internal teams, ensuring efficient allocation of work and compliance with safety and legal standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day service delivery, allocating work to vehicles and routes.
• Communicate status updates to customers and stakeholders while maintaining contact with drivers.
• Conduct debriefs with front‑line staff and report actions or updates as required.
• Engage face‑to‑face with drivers to resolve on‑route issues.
• Report safety concerns, container damage and enforce ‘stop the job’ when necessary.
• Ensure on‑site legal compliance (WTD, O'Licence, transport regulations).

Required profile

• Strong communication skills for interacting with drivers, frontline staff and customers.
• Ability to organise a busy workload and operate at a fast pace.
• Experience working with a quality management system such as ISO.
• Knowledge of transport compliance requirements.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Google operating systems.
• Familiarity with ISO quality management standards.
