Service Design and Transition Manager

About the role

Our client, a leading facilities management organisation, is seeking a Service Design and Transition Manager to lead the design and seamless hand‑over of new services. The role is hybrid, based in the South West of England with occasional visits to the Durrington office.

Key responsibilities

• Define roles, responsibilities and governance throughout the project lifecycle (40% of time).
• Review requirements, develop Total Cost of Ownership and create the Service Design Package.
• Participate in design reviews to confirm service readiness.
• Own end‑to‑end Service Transition for allocated projects, acting as the main liaison between Project Managers and stakeholders (60% of time).
• Identify and mitigate delivery risks, maintain risk and RAID registers.
• Coordinate Internal Service Acceptance Boards and manage the Acceptance into Service process.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of ITIL practices, especially Service Design, Transition and Operations.
• Proven experience delivering service design and transition activities within IT projects.
• Experience developing Service Support Models, SLAs, OLAs and process workflows.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication and facilitation abilities.
• Solid problem‑solving, organisational and project governance skills.
