Service Desk Engineer

About the role

Our client is expanding their IT support team and is looking for a Service Desk Engineer to join a busy office in Orpington. You will act as the first point of contact for customers, guiding them through technical issues and ensuring a high level of service quality.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert guidance and resolve complex fault tickets within agreed SLAs.
• Diagnose and fix issues on desktops, laptops, networks, Wi‑Fi and cloud platforms.
• Administer Office 365, SharePoint and Google Workspace for multiple customers.
• Gather and document technical requirements during phone or Teams meetings.
• Liaise with external vendors to expedite resolution of technical queries.

Required profile

• Passionate about IT with a strong customer‑focused mindset.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Organised, able to multitask and work under pressure.
• Detail‑oriented and willing to think creatively to solve problems.

Required skills

• Windows 10 and Windows 11 operating systems.
• Mac OS and Apple Mac platforms.
• Google Workspace administration.
• Office 365 and SharePoint administration.
• Cloud Wi‑Fi platform administration.
• Windows Server (full range) and networking fundamentals.
• Experience with IT‑focused ticketing systems.
