Service Engineer (Diesel & Gas Engines)

About the role

We are looking for a Field Service Engineer to maintain diesel and gas engine installations for a leading power‑generation specialist across Bedfordshire. You will carry out both planned and reactive maintenance, diagnose mechanical and electrical faults and ensure high equipment availability for industrial and public‑sector clients.

Key responsibilities

• Perform planned and reactive maintenance on diesel and gas engine systems throughout Bedfordshire.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults using on‑site and remote diagnostic tools.
• Service engines and ancillary equipment in line with manufacturer schedules.
• Complete service reports, timesheets and other maintenance documentation.
• Liaise with customers and internal teams to maximise equipment uptime and first‑time fix rates.

Required profile

• Proven experience servicing diesel engines, gas engines or similar equipment.
• Strong mechanical and/or electrical fault‑finding abilities.
• Recognised engineering qualification (Level 2 or above).
• Full UK driving licence.
• Willingness to participate in an on‑call rota.
