Service Engineer – Field Service for Automation Machinery

About the role

We are seeking a Service Engineer to join a leading UK manufacturer of turnkey automation machinery. You will be responsible for installing, commissioning, maintaining and repairing injection moulding machines and associated automation systems at customer sites across the UK.

Key responsibilities

• Install, commission and troubleshoot injection moulding machines and automation equipment on‑site.
• Perform routine maintenance, repairs and upgrades to ensure optimal performance.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
• Provide technical support and clear communication to customers.
• Travel to client locations, staying in hotels when required.

Required profile

• Apprentice‑trained engineer in electrical or mechanical disciplines.
• Experience with PLCs, automated machinery and PPM systems.
• Background in the plastics industry is preferred but not mandatory.
• Willingness to travel throughout the UK, especially the Midlands, Southampton and Plymouth.
• Based in the UK, ideally within reasonable distance of key client sites.
