Service Engineer

About the role

Veolia is looking for a Service Engineer to provide technical support for ECI reactive and maintenance issues across South London. You will work mobile on site, supporting network and PLC systems while contributing to the development of new technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Act as technical support for ECI reactive and maintenance issues.
• Support technical due‑diligence, feasibility studies and options assessments.
• Draft documentation and specifications for new technologies.
• Monitor KPI progress, manage ticket completion and escalate high‑risk issues.
• Upload and review PPM schedules and produce weekly work reports.
• Maintain and improve the ECI FSM platform.
• Provide fault finding for network, PLC and SCADA systems.
• Support site operations and software management systems.

Required profile

• Minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical, Electronic, Instrumentation, Robotics Engineering or a similar discipline.
• HNC/HND or equivalent in a relevant field.
• Creative, solution‑oriented mindset with ability to conduct technical optioneering.
• Strong negotiating, networking and influencing abilities.

Required skills

• Industrial control systems (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Rockwell, Omron, Mitsubishi, Schneider).
• PLC and SCADA systems.
• Network and instrumentation fault finding.
• Microsoft/Google spreadsheets, documents, Gantt charts and presentation tools.
