Service Engineer – Precision Machining

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Service Engineer with a background in machining or precision engineering to join a market‑leading organisation in automated machining systems. You will be based in the South East and will travel regionally and nationally, receiving comprehensive training during the first six months.

Key responsibilities

• Install, commission and service high‑precision manufacturing systems at customer sites.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical and software‑related issues.
• Perform planned and reactive maintenance on capital equipment.
• Provide technical support and deliver customer training.
• Ensure high‑quality service delivery and maintain customer satisfaction.
• Work independently while collaborating with the wider UK engineering team.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an industrial Service Engineer working with capital equipment.
• Background in machining, CNC, precision engineering or automation.
• Hands‑on experience installing, maintaining or servicing capital equipment.
• Strong mechanical and electrical fault‑finding abilities.
• Comfortable working in production/manufacturing environments.
• Excellent communication and customer interaction skills.
