Service Engineer – Tier 1 Automotive & Formula 1

About the role

We are seeking a Service Engineer with a strong electrical background to commission, service and maintain high‑tech test equipment used in Tier 1 automotive and Formula 1 research and development. The role is based in the UK with optional travel abroad, offering autonomy after a comprehensive training period.

Key responsibilities

• Commission and service automated test rigs across the UK and, when required, internationally (Europe, India, Americas).
• Fault‑find and troubleshoot PLC‑based machinery, motion‑control systems and CAN bus interfaces.
• Calibrate, tune and optimise control loops, PID parameters and other performance settings.
• Maintain detailed service records and ensure equipment complies with OEM specifications.

Required profile

• Qualified Service Engineer or similar with an electrical bias.
• Experience in fault‑finding automated machinery, PLCs, motion control or CAN interfaces.
• Willingness to be away from home up to 100 nights per year, primarily on weekdays.
• Ability to work independently after training, with no overtime expectations.
