Service Manager – Front Desk & Garage Operations

About the role

We are looking for an experienced, proactive Service Manager to lead our front‑desk, customer experience and day‑to‑day garage operations at MD Autocare in Aylesbury. This hands‑on leadership position blends reception duties, sales, and operational management within a busy workshop environment.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for customers in person, by phone and email.
• Manage front‑desk operations, bookings, vehicle drop‑offs and collections.
• Deliver a professional, friendly and efficient customer experience, keeping clients informed on progress, costs and timelines.
• Identify and act on upsell and cross‑sell opportunities, converting enquiries into confirmed bookings.
• Oversee daily garage operations, coordinate technicians and workshop staff, and ensure health & safety standards.
• Handle warranty claims, after‑care processes and maintain accurate documentation.
• Drive continuous improvement by proposing and implementing efficiency and profitability initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a service‑oriented, automotive or garage environment.
• Strong leadership and organisational skills with a customer‑focused mindset.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities and maintain high standards of quality.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
