Service Manager (Registered Manager) – Supported Living

About the role

Southdown is seeking a compassionate Service Manager (Registered Manager) to lead a small supported‑living service for adults with learning disabilities at Magdalene Court, Midhurst. This fixed‑term position (9‑12 months maternity cover) offers a full‑time schedule of 30‑37 hours per week and a salary of £36,007 per year.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain CQC registration and ensure compliance with all regulatory standards.
• Lead, support and develop a team of care staff to deliver high‑quality, person‑centred care.
• Oversee daily operations, including scheduling, on‑call duties and allowance administration.
• Provide direct support to service users when required, promoting independence and community inclusion.
• Manage budgets, health and safety procedures, and service documentation.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a managerial role within learning‑disability or residential care settings (e.g., Service Manager, Care Home Manager, Deputy Manager).
• Current CQC registration as a manager.
• Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work flexibly, including unsociable hours and on‑call shifts.
