Service Manager – Service Desk & Workshop Operations

About the role

We are seeking a Service Manager to lead our service desk and workshop operations in Guildford. The role will be the first point of contact for visitors and will coordinate machine maintenance, repairs, parts orders and warranty work while ensuring health and safety compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the first point of contact for all visitors and service enquiries.
• Manage and coordinate machine maintenance and repair requests both in the workshop and on customer sites.
• Process parts orders and handle warranty repairs.
• Liaise with manufacturers and ensure health and safety obligations are met.
• Oversee the service desk and workshop activities to maintain high customer service standards.
• Drive continuous improvement of service processes and standards.

Required profile

• Qualified mechanic or several years’ experience in vehicle maintenance.
• Extensive experience in a customer‑facing role, preferably selling parts.
• Knowledge of health and safety expectations in an engineering environment.
• Strong prioritisation and organisational abilities.
• Excellent verbal, written and critical thinking skills.
