Service Manager/Advisor

About the role

We are looking for an experienced, proactive Service Manager/Advisor to lead our front‑desk and garage operations at MD Autocare Ltd in Aylesbury. The role combines reception duties, customer service, sales and day‑to‑day operational management in a busy workshop environment.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the first point of contact for customers in person, by phone and email, managing bookings, vehicle drop‑offs and collections.
• Deliver a professional, friendly customer experience, keeping clients informed on progress, costs and completion times.
• Identify and pursue upselling and cross‑selling opportunities, explaining recommended work and converting enquiries into bookings.
• Own customer satisfaction, handling concerns and complaints, encouraging repeat business and positive online reviews.
• Oversee daily garage and front‑of‑house operations, coordinating technicians, managing workload and ensuring health & safety and quality standards.
• Manage warranty claims, liaising with suppliers and manufacturers and maintaining accurate documentation.
• Introduce new ideas and processes to improve efficiency, profitability and customer experience.
• Maintain accurate job cards, customer records, prepare invoices, process payments and support parts ordering.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Service Advisor, Garage Manager or similar role in the motor trade.
• Qualified or experienced vehicle technician.
• Strong customer service and communication abilities.
• Confident in upselling and cross‑selling, organised and commercially aware.
• Proactive, solutions‑focused and comfortable managing a busy garage.
• MOT Tester qualification is an advantage.
