Service Technician – Diesel Generator Maintenance

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Service Technician to join a growing team that maintains a fleet of diesel generators for critical power applications. The role is based in Colchester and involves travel across the UK and Europe, offering a varied and hands‑on technical environment.

Key responsibilities

• Service, maintain and inspect diesel generators from 30 kVA to 220 kVA.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults on site.
• Support installations, commissioning and operational activities at customer locations.
• Travel to UK and European sites, often at short notice, and participate in offshore projects when required.
• Uphold high standards of safety, quality and customer service.

Required profile

• Strong electrical or mechanical background (essential).
• Experience in fault‑finding and repairing diesel generators (highly desirable).
• Full, clean UK driving licence.
• Based in Colchester or surrounding area.
• Willingness to travel and work away from home.
• Proactive attitude with excellent problem‑solving abilities.
