Service Technician – Lift Service Engineer

About the role

As a Lift Service Engineer you will join Schindler’s local team in Aberdeenshire, delivering routine maintenance, repairs and fault‑resolution for a portfolio of lift equipment. You will ensure safe, reliable operation of elevators, escalators and moving walks while providing excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and minor repairs on lift systems.
• Replace components, conduct speed, motor, noise, temperature and power‑supply checks using company‑issued tools.
• Inspect, adjust and reinstate installations according to approved procedures and complete service documentation.
• Diagnose faults using technical manuals, test equipment and PDA devices, restoring equipment to service.
• Maintain compliance with PPE, safety and quality standards.

Required profile

• Experience in lift servicing, maintenance or repairs (preferred).
• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in lift maintenance.
• Advanced electrical and mechanical knowledge, capable of working on multi‑brand equipment.
• Full UK driving licence and ability to work under pressure to deadlines.
• Strong communication skills with clients, service leaders and inspectors.
