Service Transition Manager – Skynet Programme

About the role

Babcock is seeking a Service Transition Manager to support the Skynet programme, a critical initiative for the UK Ministry of Defence. Based near Corsham, Wiltshire, you will work in a hybrid setting, collaborating with military personnel and a range of stakeholders to ensure seamless service transitions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage service transition activities and associated governance processes.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including military personnel.
• Ensure customer satisfaction and compliance with contractual obligations.
• Communicate with third‑party suppliers to remove blockers and maintain smooth operations.
• Lead multi‑functional teams to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to quality standards.

Required profile

• Familiarity with ITIL V3 or V4 (beneficial but not essential).
• Understanding of commercial or satellite communications (advantageous).
• Ability to obtain and maintain Security Check (SC) clearance; DV clearance is beneficial.
• Previous experience in IT Service Management or a similar role.
• Project management experience and relevant qualifications (e.g., APM PFQ, PMI CAPM).
