Setting Out Engineer – Home-Based Civil Engineering Role

About the role

We are recruiting a Setting Out Engineer to join a well‑established, family‑run civil engineering contractor delivering roads, drainage, infrastructure and housing projects across the South of England. The role offers long‑term stability, a home‑based working environment and the autonomy to manage your own workload while travelling to sites as required.

Key responsibilities

• Perform setting‑out tasks for roads, drainage, plot works and 278 works up to DPC across multiple projects.
• Use modern surveying technology and equipment to ensure accurate placement of works.
• Travel to various site locations to carry out field work and inspections.
• Manage your own workload independently without micromanagement.

Required profile

• Setting‑out experience within civil engineering, roads, drainage, infrastructure or housing developments.
• Comfortable working independently and managing your own workload.
• Keen to embrace modern surveying methods and technology.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in delivering accurate work.
• Willingness to travel across project locations as required.
