About the role

Robert Half Technology is seeking a SharePoint Consultant to join an established publishing business on a short‑term contract. The role is hybrid, based in London, and focuses on migrating large‑scale Classic SharePoint environments to Modern SharePoint Online with minimal disruption.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute migrations from Classic SharePoint to Modern SharePoint Online using ShareGate and the Microsoft Migration Tool.
• Perform pre‑stage, delta, and cut‑over migrations while managing timelines and risks.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and technical teams to capture business requirements and ensure accurate migration of content, permissions, and information architecture.
• Review and optimise site architecture, navigation, metadata, and document libraries for usability and governance.
• Identify legacy processes, replace SharePoint Alerts with Power Automate flows where appropriate.
• Configure SharePoint Online sites to meet accessibility and organisational standards.
• Develop migration documentation, technical standards, and repeatable delivery approaches.
• Support user adoption through guidance, knowledge transfer, and AI‑enabled features such as Microsoft Copilot.
• Create PowerShell scripts to automate migration, reporting, and bulk administration tasks.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering SharePoint Online migrations from Classic to Modern environments.
• Strong understanding of SharePoint architecture, permissions models, and information management principles.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a project environment and communicate technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
