SHE Director (Corporate)

About the role

The SHE Director (Corporate) will provide strategic leadership and governance for safety, health, and environment across SGN’s corporate functions. Reporting to the Chief Safety Officer, you will champion a Zero Harm culture and ensure robust risk management for people, assets, and reputation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high‑performing Safety, Assurance and Risk team.
• Define and execute the organisation’s Safety, Assurance and Risk strategy in line with business goals and regulatory requirements.
• Promote a positive safety culture, encouraging open reporting and continuous improvement.
• Advise senior leaders and the Board on risk, assurance and governance matters.
• Oversee enterprise‑wide risk management and business continuity frameworks.
• Manage assurance activities including internal audit, compliance monitoring and control testing.
• Drive continual improvement in health, safety and assurance performance through incident investigations and corrective actions.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in safety, health, environment or risk management.
• Strong governance and assurance expertise within a large, regulated organisation.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills with senior executives and boards.
• Ability to translate strategic safety objectives into operational actions.
• Track record of building high‑performing, collaborative teams.
