SHE Regulatory NQ/Associate – Manchester

About the role

This position is for a newly‑qualified (NQ) associate specialising in Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) regulatory work within a leading international law firm based in Manchester. You will join a highly regarded regulatory team and receive training from senior lawyers while handling a variety of investigations and prosecutions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide advice and guidance on SHE regulations, including health & safety, food safety, fire safety, motor prosecutions and environmental crime.
• Draft, review and negotiate documents and contracts to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Support clients in navigating complex legal frameworks within the professional services sector.
• Conduct up‑to‑date legal research on relevant statutes and case law.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver high‑quality legal services.
• Assist in the preparation and representation of clients in regulatory investigations and court proceedings.
• Maintain accurate case files and documentation.
• Contribute to the development of best practices and knowledge sharing within the department.

Required profile

• Completed a training seat in regulatory or criminal law (or equivalent experience).
• Strong interest in SHE regulatory matters and willingness to develop expertise.
• Excellent analytical and research abilities.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced team environment.
