Sheet Metal Fabricator – On‑site Full‑time

About the role

Reed is recruiting a Sheet Metal Fabricator to join a well‑established engineering and manufacturing organisation in Sunderland. The role is ideal for individuals who thrive in a precision‑focused production environment and enjoy working within a collaborative team. You will be involved in producing high‑quality metal components for a fast‑paced operation.

Key responsibilities

• Fabricate and assemble sheet‑metal components using engineering drawings, specifications and production instructions.
• Operate fabrication machinery and hand tools safely and efficiently, meeting agreed production timescales.
• Inspect finished parts for defects, inaccuracies or material issues and take corrective action.
• Collaborate with production and engineering colleagues to support workflow efficiency and resolve manufacturing challenges.
• Adapt to unique job requirements, stepping in wherever needed to ensure timely delivery to customers.
• Maintain a clean, organised work area and follow health, safety and company compliance procedures.

Required profile

• Previous experience in sheet‑metal fabrication or a similar engineering/manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and measurements accurately.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and flexibility to adapt to changing production priorities.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
• Good understanding of workplace health and safety practices and a commitment to high‑quality standards.
